What We Tested and Why
Every batch of Wolves Fitness protein goes through third-party lab testing. Not internal testing — independent lab testing, sent to a facility we don't operate and don't control.
In June 2026, we submitted two products for heavy metal screening:
Both were tested at Allied Chemists Laboratory Sdn Bhd — a SAMM-accredited, ILAC-MRA recognised independent laboratory in Malaysia.
What is SAMM? SAMM stands for Standards Malaysia Accreditation. It's the Malaysian government's official laboratory accreditation scheme, managed under the Department of Standards Malaysia. A SAMM-accredited lab is one that has been formally audited and certified to meet international standards for testing accuracy and reliability. When you see SAMM 191, that's the accreditation number — it's publicly verifiable.
What is ILAC-MRA? The International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Mutual Recognition Arrangement. It means Allied Chemists' SAMM accreditation is recognised internationally — their results carry weight not just in Malaysia but globally.
In simple terms: this isn't a lab we picked because they'd give us good results. This is a certified, government-recognised, internationally accredited testing facility.
The 5 Heavy Metals They Tested
And Why They Matter
When we talk about "heavy metal testing" for food supplements, we're looking at five specific contaminants that can enter a product through raw ingredient sourcing or manufacturing processes. Here's what each one is, in plain language:
Arsenic (As) — A naturally occurring element found in soil and water. Can accumulate in crops and animal-derived ingredients. Long-term exposure is associated with serious health risks.
Lead (Pb) — One of the most studied toxic metals. Can enter supplements through contaminated raw ingredients or manufacturing equipment. Associated with neurological and kidney effects at elevated exposure.
Mercury (Hg) — Primarily a concern for fish-derived ingredients and certain manufacturing processes. The permitted level for food in Malaysia is strictly set at 0.05 mg/kg — the tightest limit of all five metals — because of its potency.
Cadmium (Cd) — Accumulates in the kidneys over time. Found naturally in soil and can enter plant-based ingredients. A concern especially with rice and certain grains.
Antimony (Sb) — Less commonly known but included in complete heavy metal panels. Can enter food products from packaging or processing materials.
All five were tested using ICP-MS — Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry. This is the gold standard analytical method for heavy metal detection, used in medical, pharmaceutical, and food safety laboratories worldwide. It detects contamination at the parts-per-billion level.
The permitted levels are set by Malaysia Food Regulations 1985, 14th Schedule Table I, updated as of December 2023 — the official regulatory standard governing food safety in Malaysia.

The Results
Both products were tested between 3–5 June 2026. Reports were issued 8 June 2026.

How to Read These Results
A few things to help you understand what these numbers mean:
The "<" symbol means "less than."
When a result says <0.07, it means the amount detected was below the lab's detection threshold — essentially, so small the instrument couldn't measure a precise figure. In heavy metal testing, "below detection limit" is the best possible result.
The gap between our results and the permitted levels matters.
For arsenic, the limit is 1.0 mg/kg. Our Vanilla Dessert Protein came in at less than 0.07 — that's less than 7% of the maximum allowed. Our Kiwi Apple came in at 0.12 — still only 12% of the limit. Both well within safe levels.
Mercury deserves a special mention. The permitted level for mercury is 0.05 mg/kg — the most strictly set limit of all five metals. Both products came back at <0.05 mg/kg. Below detection. The tightest test, and both products came in below the instrument's detection limit.
Why We Do This
We test every batch because we believe you have a right to know what's in what you're consuming. Not as a claim — as documentation.
The pack trusts us to be consistent. We take that seriously.
Heavy metal contamination in supplements is a real issue globally. It isn't rare. A 2020 study of protein supplements across multiple markets found a meaningful percentage of products with detectable heavy metal levels above recommended limits. The source is usually contaminated raw ingredient suppliers — and the problem is invisible without proper testing.
Independent, third-party, accredited testing is the only way to verify it. Internal testing doesn't count — too easy to look the other way. Self-declarations don't count — no accountability. Third-party SAMM-accredited results, signed by a registered chemist, with a verifiable lab reference number — that's what we're showing you.
